Emma is a full-time mother of two and hadn’t picked up a paintbrush in over 20 years—until she joined our adult oil painting class last term. “I used to love art in high school, but life got busy,” she said on her first day, unsure if she even remembered how to draw.

Within a few weeks, Emma rediscovered not only her technical skills, but also a part of herself she had put aside for years. Her quiet, detailed style emerged quickly, and her recent still-life painting of kitchen ceramics was praised for its warmth and balance.
Emma now comes to the studio every Saturday morning, calling it her “weekly reset.” More than a hobby, art has become her way of reconnecting with herself. “This space gave me permission to slow down and create again,” she says with a smile.
